    Default Is it me....

I've the the auto dimming rear view mirror on my design and when I was driving back from the airport the other night, it appeared as though the drivers wing mirror dimmed too....

    Is this right?!?

The glass has a rubbery / plastic rim on it which is not on the passenger side.

It seems pretty cool if it is, i love gadgets!!

    Thanks, I

Probably an eyesight adjustment tbh, I can't say I ever noticed it on my Design, but if you think of it this way, you will have looked in the RVM and your pupils will have adjusted to it, then glanced the wing mirror and sooner than your eyes had adjusted to the different light.

Theres a definate mismatch between the driver and passenger mirrors in terms of 'colour' at night. I'd noticed it before and thought it was me but a good run on the motorway made it seem even more apparent.....

I,m sure I have seen auto dim on wing mirror, but have no info like model or year. Just wait till dark and turn on ignition then lights and shine a torch at the sensor.

The RVM is sensitive to any light source Iain, try squeezing a zit with the int light on, impossible unless you are quick

Yep, the rubbery bit around the mirror glass indicates its auto-dimming. You do NOT want to see the price of the mirror glass. So no banging of the mirrors!!
