    Default Clutch judder

The car is 4 months old with 1750 miles on the clock. After driving around all day in it the clutch will start to judder as i'm setting off.The following morning its usually smooth again but the more you drive it the worse it gets. When it was pretty bad i took it on a very steep hill and slipped the clutch for a few seconds. After that it was ok for a couple of days but the judder is slowly returning. It seems to point to clutch contamination but when i took it to the dealers they couldn't find anything wrong.(I took it first thing in the morning and of course the clutch was smooth).Has anyone had any of these problems?Mines a 1.8vvt 07 plate and i am not very happy at the moment.

there are new parts being released to cure clutch judder, ask your dealer to contact VX technical services for the latest info.. other dealers have retro fitted these improved parts to members cars and succesfully cured their clutch judder

I brought up the problem with the clutch with my local dealer and they stated they only know of the Astra having this problem. After some persuasion they called someone and gave me a case number. Not sure what happens next so here's hoping...

yea got a simular prob with my 1.8 56 plate signum.4000 miles, however mine is worse at cold start and really bad in traffic with obviously more use. VX said that they couldn't fault the car !!! and had not had any problems with clutches on other 1.8s. (Pentagon Derby).

My 05 plate 1.8 judders occasionally, mostly when cold or damp - when I take it back for my radiator issue I'll enquire and see what they say!
