    Default Thinking of changing car

    Hi All,

thinking of changing my car from a 1.8 55 sri nav plate to a 05 plate v6 3.0 cdti nav, ive been looking at the specs sheet from vauxhall but there dont seem any point in geting a diesel as the fuel figures are very simular

is this correct, or am i missing somthing, allways thougt diesls were more better on fuel then petrol

    thanks to all who answer

Remember its a three litre! Its a lot nicer to drive than the 1.8 too, Mine does an average of 38 round townand 42+ on a long run. Its a very smooth and powerful engine. The 1.9 150 is a lot better on fuel.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

if you had the 3 litre, you'd never want to go back to the 1.8.... try it .. you might like it..

Get a 1.9 CDTi 16 Valve (150 ps) and remapped to 190 BHP

Its very quick, pulls like a 3.0L CDTi and you still get over 42 MPG...

Sorry, but nothing pulls like the V6 IMO. The remapped 1.9s are probably just as fast, if not faster due to their lighter weight. But the V6 is effortless. No significant turbo lag, just loads & loads of power. And the engine noise is supurb.

Yep I agree with that. The 1.9 is a great engine don't get me wrong, but the complete dead spot below 1500ish rpm, I couldn't live with that. Its not a lot slower than the V6 before being mapped or having a box fitted either.

You may get 42mpg BUT not when you are trying to keep up with V6's

from the MPG I have had for the last 30k in my 1.8 a V6 PETROL would have been better! Nevermind a V6 diesel.
