    Default Shell V-Power Diesel

My local Shell garage has just started keeping V-Power Diesel, wondering if it REALLY is worth the extra cost ofr my 3.0 V6 CDTi?? Anyone any stories?? Is it in theory compatible with all diesels??

Thats fantastic news for you Diesel owners!
IMHO its tremendous fuel for all with the performance difference increasing with the engine size.
Nearly all the shell garages have closed around Middlesbrough now(mystery as to why) so i do a 7mile round trip to Yarm for my VPower fix.
I run a 2.2 directsri and the benefits are all to clear.
1.Little or no hesitation in the lower gears from standing.

2.Acceleration is markedly improved, especially 4th to 5th and on where i find it most noticeable.(Lower gears are similar in performance to Tesco 99ron).

3.The engine runs so much smoother! Trust me you will notice in a petrol,it's like going from bristle mat to to plush wool carpet,so it'll be interesting to see what happens with a diesel.

4.Economy AN IMPORTANT ONE THIS,I go from 28.5 extra urban with (99ron) to around 30 to 31 with VPower ,motorways its from 36 with 99 ron to 38 with VPOWER small i grant you, but a saving over a good spot of mileage.

5.It contains additive that cleans through your engine, keeping peak performance.

6.Okay it cost more around £1.03 for me,but it burns sooo much better so therefore works out cheaper overall RESULT!

7.My mate owns an Astra VXR and wont let anything else near his tank!

For those who say they havn't noticed any difference, for me they havn't been a complete geek like me,that has run on a tank of 99ron,till nearly empty, then timed it just right to fill up with vpower and compare figures.
It's even shaved around a second on my 0-60 time!BONUS!

So get it in your tank! As i am really interested to read your feedback on the Diesel version!

Just looked on shell website, and no stations sell this in Manchester area.
I found a BP Ultimate station on Trafford road Salford quays. This is my nearist. 3 mile away. I'm going to start and use it, hopefully i'll see the difference.

You won't gain any benefit from BP ultimate by just putting in one tank and expect a sudden benefit.

Due to me filling up 4/5 times a month, it is hard to get BP Ultimate all the time, but I have to admit when I was using it for about 4 times on thr trot the car did drive alot smoother and crisper.

My A3 (2.0 Turbo petrol) has run on Shell V Power or BP Ultimate since I bought it new and it is a major benefit.

I will try Shell V Power Diesel once it arrives around here.
