Default Not sure if oil leak or what?

    Hi

    I have a vectar 2003 model 2.2 dti.

I noticed a few drops on my drive checked underneath the car but the cover is in on. So i put card board under where it seems to be and no drops this morning.

Seems like its proper dirty down there not sure if its a leak? its proper dirty, and dry!

could it be that previously that if something was changed it was made dirty and the car when it heats up lets some **** down.

If there was a consistent leak would there defintely still be some marks everyday as it would seap through the cover or would the cover hold it?

    cheers

    TJ

if it's only there after using the a/c then it's condensation run off from the air conditioning, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Hi

No the smells happens sometimes espcially when its heated but it comes and goes.

i looked under the bonnet noticed that there dry oil near the gasket not aroundJ the seal as it was clean there. Looked at the CV boot near the wheel and it had dried out oil. Must be from before??

i know the previous owneer had a full service in februaury which had somebelt changed, oil etc... and also the turbo went on it last year and he had that changed?

if there was a consistent leak would it not come through the plate at the bottom? it seems all dried out so could the smell be burning oil?

    cheers

Take the cover off, you may have a leaking injector pipe, by the time it hits the floor it looks black and gunky.

Yes, steaming should be ok, but avoid the electrical components and connectors and most importantly the ecu's

Done mine twice and no ill effects..
