So, for those of you with autos, do you use left foot braking or stick to the conventional method of resting your left foot?

i used to have a mitsubishi pajero automatic and never used my left foot at all, when i brought my vec i had a few narrow squeeks forgeting to press the clutch.
I have found that I use my Left Foot to Brake...
When I use my Right - I nearly go through the windscreen!!
Had a Manual Courtesy Car today - 1st time I have driven a manual in 4 months - Yikes!
Always rest you left foot..otherwise you could upset the box by accelerating and braking at the same time.....
I only ever use my left foot to hold the car when I have come to a stop so I can apply a little gas to re-engage 1st before I set off. That ****** auto-neutral shift is a pain in the **** when there's a hill!!
I stick with the right foot all our ambulances are automatic and the new Zafira's too!
i tried braking left footed once in my range rover, NEVER again, nearly did a stoppie
If you can train yourself to left foot brake without ending up with a VX logo on your forehead, then in theory you'll have shorter reaction times (not having to move foot across). Just don't push both pedals at the same time !
very good question and answers....had never given it a thought only having driven manuals....well if ever i get auto i will know what and not what to do now
