Spider Box vs DPF

After having my car in at the stealers last week to have the DPF fixed, (which was probably due to the box ) it's now happened again and it's been running quite a bit hotter since then, suprise, suprise....Anyway, a wise man once told me...

just be careful now, as these boxes and DPF's are at odds with each other.... the DPF could have been killed by the amount of soot that the engine was producing and it was unable to regenerate often enough to keep itself clean... we had 2 DPF's fitted and the software updates ( which then caused rough cold running ) and they asked us if it had been boxed, straight away!!

even with the new software ( to make it regenerate more often) i'd still be wary about fitting a tuning box to a vehicle with a DPF, especially as the DPF uses the turbo to overheat the filter to clean it, so more regenerations leads to bigger stress on the turbo..and we know that they are fragile enough anyway..

So I'm seriously considering selling the box and having a remap instead. If I did, I'd probably want around £200 for it...would anyone be interested if I did? It's about 3 months old and still in perfect condition.

Or would it be worth giving Diagnostix a ring? Would they be able to shed any light on the situation?

first stop is the dealer( un boxed) to ask them if the increase in running temp is related to the work that they have done, and then to ask them to investigate why it's doing it...this could be related to the new software that they will have downloaded as part of the new DPF setup

Would I box a DPF'd car??..simple answer is no....
