    Default Fault code P1590

    Hi.

I have a bit of a problem, I'm supposed to leave for Germany this week.
BUT as always when I have something I really want to do my car decides to give me hell... (But somehow I always choose Opel way before other brands)

This time it's the fault code P1590, my engine code is Y22DTR.
In norwegian the code translates to:
    Fordamping Vakuumsolenoidkrets.
I have no idea how to translate that to english.
So i hope anybody here have had the same fault code and remembers what i was. Any tips at all?

    In German:
    P1590 = Unterdruck Magnetventil
    Causes:
    Spannung zu groß
    Spannung zu klein
    Stromkreis offen
    Endstufe Temperatur zu groß

Can you translate the causes to english?
    It would help a lot.

Edit: Where did you find that? Autodata/TIS or something?

I guess the magnetvalve is the same as the EGR valve?

This thing costs 5000 nok,- (about 500 pund)
I'll check the altonator tomorrov, the faultcode comes and goes.
Maybe it's just my head playing with me, but it seems to come more often when i use a lot of electricety. As the AC, CD/radio etc...
But then again, it should not have an affect on the EGR-valve?

Eivind, as benny said above, get the alternator checked out.. if if comes on a lot more when you use a lot of electricity then it should be even more of an indication that it's at fault to you..

    Hmmm, I came up with:
P1590 = Vacuum Solenoid Valve Powerstage High Temperature
    • The ascertained Control Unit temperature is out of range
    • Above condition must be fulfilled for at least 0.6s
I don't really know how diesel ECMs work so I can't offer any advice.

Checked this last night, the alternator was working fine.

I guess ECM is the same thing as we call EGR valve. I went back to my garage and checked the faultcodes again, this time it came to codes.
The same code as last time, and a new one (don't remember the exact code). But everything pointed to the EGR valve.
Changed the valve and now I'm 500 pund + mva poorer. But the car is working fine.

    Thanks for all the help
