I have recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. My last operational tour as I am hoping to leave Her Majesties Forces at the end of the year. I have been serving for 24 years and have met HRH Prince Charles on a number of occassions as he is our Colonel In Chief.
However tomorrow I am going to Clarence house as I have been lucky enough to be selected to meet Charlie again, this time he is going to present me with my Operational Service Medal, Operation Herrick - Afghanistan.
I am very proud of this opportunity and looking forward to the day. We had the obligatory dress rehearsals today, before the rain thankfully and we all looked very smart. After the presentation we are all having lunch and a couple of beers with him in the grounds. Fingers crossed for no rain, not too much to ask for in the middle of July even if it is England.
