Default Went to the garage today.............

.........to have the brakes sorted (I know its a simple job but really couldnt find the time!).

Went back to collect this evening and the guy gave the keys back and said that the pads were still at less than half worn? I trust the mechanic, hes from the old school and very reliable. The warning light came on just over a month ago in the normal way, and reset every time the ignition was switched off.

More recently the little tell tale on the rev counter has also been flashing to tell me that a bulb has gone when quite clearly it hasn't.

    Anyone got any bright suggestions?

Garage man thinks it might be a problem with either tell tale or something else. Its going back in on wednesday to have the fault codes on the ecu read.

Mine told me I had a bulb out and it was fine. A week later it was still telling me and it had blown.....how did it know

Check the warning cable from the pads, it could be that.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

bulb fault light can be caused by poor contact between the bulb and the bulb holder, so clean the contacts..and that means all of them ....

and a broken wire in the sensor loom will give you the brake pad warning light..so it could just be the cheap wire

bulbs on vec c can be out and look ok if you stand well back from the cars you can then have a better idea of wich bulb is out .....also there is a known problem with the brake pad warning lights giveing incorrect readings most dealers have been programing the warning system out as they do give a little glitch from time to time on different cars ......ask the dealer about it ..or if some one on here is able to read tis could find the feild remedy for it ..hope this helps benny ....

Cheers boys, anyone got anymore details about what Benny is talking about? Would it help to change the sensor itself?
