Default Had scrape to bumper repaired

Had the local chipsaway guy come out this morning to remove minor scrape from front bumper.

Was quite impressed, he sanded down, filled, sanded and then mixed his own paint to match the car and sprayed the affected area.

    Cost was £70 + VAT

Unfortunately he left a little overspray on the plastic trim at the bottom of the front bumper .... can anyone suggest the best way of removing this overspray please

    Thanks

try a bit of meths/paint thinner. I would test it on an inconspicuous place 1st to make sure it didnt bleach the plastic

Nip back to their office and point it out in a nice way and ask if they can do something with it, might need to wait a few days for the repair to harden, which is probably why he didn't want to cut compound it at the time.

Just removed 99% of it with a little paint thinners / petrol.

The painted area is quite dull - the guy told me to leave it for 3 days or so prior to wax and polishing it .... it will come up like new.

Still .... £70 + VAT is better than a new bumper

I was quite impressed that he could mix his own paint from the paint code on the VIN Plate

I'll be a little more careful with low walls in the future

If you have any detailing clay then this will remove over spray.

I couldn't bring myself to take any before pics .... I had a slight glancing blow to a brick wall with the front of the bumper ...

I'll post some after photo's when I have washed and detailed the car next week.

Does detailing clay work on the plastic trim?

    Thanks

Rushy says it will, so its worth a try. Would like to see the finished article as i've got a small scrape on my bumper that needs sorting.

I had some over spray on the black rubber at the bottom of the rear windscreen and it did the trick on that . Paint was a couple of months though.

If you have over spray just use quick clay and that will safely do the job.
