    Default 4 door Vectras?

Iíve just been visited by a rep in a 4 door saloon Vectra- you know, one with a separate lockable boot.
Hatchbacks are very popular in the UK, but elsewhere in Europe Iíve noticed a much larger proportion of saloon versions of popular cars. Maybe this is because they more routinely get broken into on the Continent, or maybe itís because they just prefer a separate boot? I know they do tend to be quieter riding.
In Spain this summer Iím sure I saw a number of GTS (Sri equivalent I think) Vectras in the four door bodyshell.
Looking at the VX brochure I see that there is only a limited range of four doors models, whilst the entire range can be had with five doors.
I would imagine that the four door shell would be inherently stiffer than the hatchbacks, which could make them a more suitable basis for high performance versions.
Mineís five door but, like my last hatchback, Iíve never dropped the back seats (except whilst hoovering it out!)Ė so, like a lot of people, I could manage perfectly well with a saloon.
Are there many on this forum with a four door Vectra?
Does anyone know the relative numbers sold?

Here in Sweden ( and i think in the rest of Europe ) the GTS are 5 door only.
Had sports chassi with 20mm drop.
Here the 3.2 wasnt sold with 4 door.

So its the other way around ... more power, 5d ....

And if you check the cars Opel use in racing its the 5d Vectra.

    The same for OPC/VXR ... 5d only .... not sold as 4d.

I have a four door elegance doug, I have driven a hatchback and there is indeed less noise. not sure if the bodyshell stiffens the car up, mine is not lowered or anything so it feels very wobbly around corners on the standard springs.

the only drawback of the saloon is the narrow boot opening, with a hatchback you have a huge access boot, but with the saloon its really difficult to get bulky items in. and also its alot harder to clean the inside of the rear screen
