Default How much for a oil & filter change

Popped in to the dealers as the car is coming up to 40k mid service and was quoted £114 for oil & filter change with fully synthetic for the V6 CDTi. Any-one else had a price like this?

on the V6 diesel, the filter is £30 and then 7 litres of oil...... not bad for a main dealer I wouldn't have thought.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Got mine serviced in the week by a local Garage, He used genuine Vauxhall parts, and it cost me £135 all in.

You dont have to use a main dealer to keep your warranty up, just use genuine parts i believe.

It is the genuine parts that are expensive as Vx now recommend fully synthetic oil which is about £80 a fill on the V6

ep there you go, add the £30 for the filter and its £110 already. Makes the £114 seem good!

I know people will laugh but try Kwik Fit, they just dropped the oil and replaced inc filter for £25 on my mates 200sx, that was with fully synthetic aswell (must be making a loss)
I have heard they are aware of certain "harder cars" which they dont do

I believe the oil on the Service invoice, is charged per litre
What you can do, is go to the Parts Department and purchase two 4 litre bottles
Then book your car in and say you are supplying the oil
Present the car, and advise them the oil in the boot
Staple the receipt for the oil to the service receipt, and this will save you a few pounds!

Anyway, my services are all "free" on my current Vectra
Looking forward to a set of new front brake pads soon!

5 litres of long life oil (fully synthetic) for petrol is less than £25 over VX counter. It costs me £30 for long life oil and filter for my 1.8 petrol. So I don't know where the £80 mentioned above comes from.
