2.2 be, or not 2.2 be!!

Right, dilemma time!

Just been down to Camden's in Leighton Buzzard with a mate, so he could pick up his new car. Anyway, he know's the salesman, so we got chatting and he asked me if i was interested in a new car or not.

Well, i wasnt interested, until he showed me what he had.....

He offered me this, a 54 plate 1.9CDTi SRI 150 NAV, with 60000 miles on it, in Star Silver, for £8399.

He offered me £6000 for my car, which is a 53 plate 2.2 DTi SRi, and he reckoned he could sort it so i would only be parting with £2000, If i was interested.

Now, i have, only today got my suspension sorted on my car, and it fully serviced, got my grille fitted and got it de-badged.

So, Do i or Dont i?

The 1.9 has got a bit of mileage on it, but nothing to really worry about - it's obviously out of Vx warranty. Without looking up the guides to see the figures, to me it looks like they've given you a damn good trade-in price on yours!!

The reason i ask is i have a MAY '03 2.2Dti Elegance with 58000 miles on the clock and i have been trying to trade it in recently. The best i can get is £5000.
In February of THIS YEAR i bought it for £7995.

Yep it is worth going for................... only one failing, it is a Deisel.

I dont think it will be Duncan. A 54 plate is oct 2004 - march 2005 so even if it was registered in oct 04 it will have around 3 months warranty. But it could be newer than that.

I think its a good buy. Sat Nav too. Go for it

Depends how badly you want a diesel. I think that car is overpriced and will suffer heavy depreciation once it's got another 20000m on it.

I'd stop and have a serious think. What are you going to gain and is it worth another £2000 to you.
