    Default Could Have been nasty!

Just got my car back from the Garage, Its been serviced and had all the new Suspension fitted to it(Eibach Springs, Bilstien Shocks)

They showed me the old suspension, and it was frightening!!

3 springs were broken, both fronts and 1 rear!
3 shocks were knackered, the same positions as the broken springs!

They havent just cracked overnight, they have been like it for some time, probably before i bought the car, says alot for the quality of the car sales i bought it from doesnt it!

They claimed to have done a service on it before i bought it. Yeah right, likely story!

Anyway, its all sorted now, runs sweet as a nut, and handles oh so much better than it did this morning!

Once i've taken it out for a proper blast round the lanes later and the suspension has settled a bit, i'll post some pictures, before and after!

That was lucky - was it making noises and handling badly before? (hence you going for the kit?)

I knew, from advice on here that it had a knackered NSR shock on it, but that was about it!

Suspension was a bit soft, but i put it down to being a bigger car and the suspension wasnt up to it!

    Anyway's, all sorted now!

Blimey, makes you wonder how many other cars are on the road with suspension like your old setup ??

Wonder how your insurance company would react if they found out ??

Hope you enjoy your new setup, sounds good

How do you tell? I don't think mine feels right, and the front springs were replaced not long back (both were broken). Rear shocks have been done as well, probably about a year back IIRC.

I suspect the front struts may be on their way out, or maybe bushes but the last time it went in for a service a couple of months ago I asked them to check - all was OK, passed MOT and everything.

I am reluctant to throw more money at a garage to be told the same thing. I've tried the obvious like trying to bounce the front corners, but either I'm too weak or ths springs are too strong 'cos I can't move it much - it certainly doesn't bounce. Used to be more obvious on my older cars years ago.
