Which modules are reprogrammable?

As the title says... I know the Engine Control Module is, but which other modules on a 2003 build car are reflashable?

Reprogrammable as in how exactly?
My 2002 ECM had a fault code related to it to either reprogram or replace. Garage I took it to reflashed all the ecus with later software and fixed the problem but had the ecm needed replacing it gets programmed to the car & that is it, it cannot be reprogrammed for use on another car afterwards.

I mean replacing/upgrading the software with a Tech 2 or similar to improve performance, remedy software faults, etc.

Pretty much all the modules are reprogrammable for one reason or another. e.g the door modules can be re-programmed to alter how the mirrors work, if they're folding etc. It's going to be the main engine ECU that's reprogrammed to alter performance (remapped) and to update software.

Duncan, I mean changing the software itself, not changing the configuration it uses. To use a Windows analogy, I mean using a Service Pack as opposed to changing the desktop background colour.

Ah gotcha. They basically do that already. The dealers will update the software in the car if there are new versions available. Whether that software is limited to just the main engine ECU or will also go into other modules, I don't know.
