Default Anyone know how to wind up a ltd company quickly

As per thread title - my friend and I set up a ltd company a couple of years ago to develop some software and we enlisted the help of some so called friends to help develop this.

We had a formal contract between our company and their company whereby they would employ a project and develop a test version of the software.

So far 18 months have rolled by, no test product, a big falling out and now they are chasing us for around £40K and are threatening to take us to court (on Monday).

What can I do to wind up my company very quickly (and cheaply)???

Any help would be gratefully received.

Are you (or anyone you know) members of the FSB? If so, they have free legal advice that may help you out.

I don't want to make myself bankrupt - I just need the company to be liquidated.

If you're ltd then it shouldn't effect you personally (unless there is sufficient miss-doings).

Just had a thought - you're accountant (assuming you have one) should be able to advise?

Also, have you looked at the Companies House website and through the directors handbook that was sent to the directors and the company secretary when you set the company up?

When i finished being a Self Employed Driver, i contacted companies house, they sent me all the relevant forms, and if i remember right it was done within 3 months. They have to leave it for a period of time, to make sure its not in use i believe.

The people n the phone at Companies House are really helpful, they saved me a £1000 fine. Give them a call, thats what they are there for.

As above, you're best bet is to contact Companies House - they'll give you advice, but also ask your accountant as well.

Thanks for this, I have spoken to Companies House and feel a bit happier that my total liability only stands at around £100.00GBP.
