boo hoo, my JDL spoiler arrived...

I was pleased to find today that my JDL front lower spoiler had arrived

(apparently it arrived a few days ago but nobody told me!

)

So out I went with it looking all proud (as usuall with these things it was far from perfect and would have needed body filler and sanding done then a reprime before I could think about painting it) and with some help I held it up against the car... Then I moved it up, then down, then to one side, then the other and then I swore alot and upset the neighbours.

It didn't even nearly fit! It's got about a 2" gap either side?!? I got a tape measure out and put it accross the front wheels, then I measured the distance btween the outside walls of the tyres (not where they touch the ground but where they bulge to). The tyres come flush with the bumper about where the fog lights are on mine. I then measured the spoiler they sent me and it's 4cm wider!??

The add said it fits SRI bumpers and I checked before I ordered, that mine has exactly the same bumper as an SRI. I can only think that they must have designed it to fit an XP or VXR pack bumper, cos it certainly won't fit an SRI.

I've told them but I can't imagine they will want to be very helpfull, good job I used paypal.

geez thats annoying mate, hope you get yer money back ok, jdl quality seems to be a bit hit and miss IMO

I'm not pushing for my money back yet, just a spoiler that fits but unless they sent the wronge model then I think it will have to be a go else where job. I really like their spoiler though

from what i've read on here , JDL are a couple of million miles away from being anywhere near IRMSCHER etc ! as they say , y pays y money !

Did you sign for it? or did anyone sign for it? If not and they won't sort it out for you, just tell paypal that it never arrived...... money back!

i've got a complete JDL bodykit sitting in the garage waiting to be sprayed... i've tried offering it up to the car to see how it would look, and i just hope the bodyshop can do better than me!

Although all 4 parts seem the right size, the side skirts don't follow the contour of the car, and the front spoiler looks like i'll either have to cut the bumper or do some serious filling to make it fit flush
