Default Vectra C Doors water retention

Noticed this ages ago and meant to post. Has anyone ever noticed after heavy rain, if your vectra is parked on a slope and on a camber, when you open the doors on the side that is in the lowermost position, any rainwater that has bypassed the window seal just sits inside the bottom of door cavity and does not escape until the door is opened? I have. I think this is something to do with the rubber seals on the body that mate with the door when closed. These do not appear to let water drain out the door drain holes at the bottom inner door skin. If I drive the car first though, the water must have a way out as I only ever notice this if I open the door after heavy rain and the car has not moved. Potential rust spot when the car is older I think. Thinking about cutting a channel in the rubber seals in the area of the drain holes to allow standing water to leak out. Only ever noticed when the car is parked on a slope, as it is outside my house.

Had this with the previous Vec b especially on the drivers door. (probably because that was sitting the lowest). Not noticed it with the Signum.

Yep, I have recently noticed this what with all the lovely weather we're havin.
Cutting the rubber seems a bit excessive, think i will just open the doors a bit more often.

Rust "shouldn't" become a future issue, the insides of the doors are usually well and truly waxed up, just check that the drain holes in the bottom of the doors are wax free and not at all restricted.
