Default direct line insurance ****** hell!!!

My insurance is due in a week or 2 so lookin round for qoutes on my 03 2.2dti elite. Tried Direct Line first, they quoted me £1021
Then tried Confused.com, Swift cover came out the cheapest, they quoted me £530
So think i will be going with them. I cant believe how expensive direct line is.

...found the same mate, 8 years no claims, no convictions etc.. Churchill quoted me £850 on a 2.2dti sri.

scandalous...I just dont get it, my renewal on the 1.8 Focus I traded in against the veccy was half that price.

Have you tried Adrian Flux for a quote?
If the car is modified, a lot of companies charge for the mods.

With Adrian Flux, car is insured with all mods declared

£530 still seems steep mate! Do you have points etc? I only pay £300+/- for mine, and i'm only 23.....although it is only a 2.0DTi

armed with the quote from confused.com ( who are middlemen for the insurance company) give the insurance companies a telephone direct.

i was told that telephone sales people need to achieve a set target by the end of the month. if they have not reached that target they may be willing to discount to get your business. worth a try...

also there are a lot of companies not with confused.com.....remember that.

i found admiral was cheapest for me as they combined my two cars on one policy.....strange but true.

i fear you have a lot of hours on the telephone....remember they want your business................

I find that if you give them a call they might give you a better deal if you challenge the premium.

I had a bit of problem with Direct Line when i was getting Buildings Insurance. They quoted me nearly £200 on the phone, i went onto their website and got a quote for £110. ???
