Default You think Vx customer care is poor?

If you think Vx customer care is poor wait till you try to get something sorted for it's cousin, Saab!

My '04 9-3 Aero with only 26k miles decided to destroy the clutch a couple of weeks ago and has been in the dealers ever since. It has not been stripped down as yet as they do not want to tie up a ramp until they have a clutch to fit it.
They were not going to do anything until somebody gave them the ok as Saab "might" be paying the bill I told them to get the clutch ordered as it's a catch 22 situation and nothing is getting done. If i have to then i will pay for the thing to be fitted but until the clutch is ordered nothing CAN be done!
I was told the clutch would be delivered from Sweden today and fitted today or tomorrow. I had a rather lengthy conversation with the service manager tonight as the clutch still has not been delivered and won't be until...............................

    27th July

Apparently there are none anywhere, not a solitary clutch to be had on the planet! I've asked Parts for Saabs, Elkparts etc and they don't have one either. Even Saab GB customer care head office can't help

So, i'm car-less for another few weeks, no courtesy car either as they don't have any until at least the week after next

Think it's the end of my relationship with GM! (until the Vec D comes out )

Oh yes they can get me a hire car but i'll have to pay for it They want £10 a DAY for the courtesy car to cover the insurance too if i have one
I told them IF i do have a car from them i won't be paying a penny as it will be covered on my insurance. It will cost me £25 but still less than they want.

mate at work has an o5 plate mondeo st220 and the clutch went at 13000 miles, he had to shell out an unbeleivable £800 to have it repaired but after consulting trading standards he is to get a refund of his money as te car is still underr warranty, he is slightly releived to say the least! would the clutch from the z20 net engine not fit as they are the same engines are they not?

I asked that very question and was told that because the Aero is 210bhp to start with it has a stronger clutch. I said that the BSR stage 3 takes the vec up to 250ish (the same as mine with a stage 1 remap) and does not require the clutch to be uprated It was met with a stoney silence on the other end of the phone
What about the Astra VXR clutch, that takes over 240bhp standard. Now he was really knackered

Looks like i'll just have to wait
