    Default hi all....corsa question??

hi lads, no probs with my sri vectra, but i got a little 2000 corsa 1.0 12v for my sister with 37k on it, everything seems dead on, until i got it home, i realised that there was no hot air blowing for internal heaters, also the temp guage was not rising very far after a 100mile journey at weekend?? barely moving at all..engine is warm, coolant is at maximum also feels warm, has my thermostat gone? or is there a switch/solenoid/ or something that operates the heater, any info would be greatly appreciated?

if the engine is getting warm and you can feel the pipes getting hot, then it's unlikely to be the thermostat.. you can feel if it's working by the 'sudden' rush of warmer water down the inside of the pipe..the coolant sensor could have failed and be a seperate fault to the heater which could well be a stuck valve..

    Default HI

Where would i get an engine layout picture of 2000 corsa 1.0 12v, i need to locate the water temperature guage sender unit? would this cause there to be no hot air blowing?

no, it would just cause the temp guage to not work, and it's located on the water pump on the end of the engine with the black chain cover on it, drivers side..

the heater problem is more likely to be water flow or the lack of it via the heater matrix, or even the flaps/ducts within the heater system

i dont think the matrix is leaking or anything as there are no signs of dampness etc inside car, if it was blocked or air locked or something, would it cause this, maybe i could reverse flush the matrix? thanks for any info anyway mate, will check site tomorrow!!

    Default sorted

it was the flaps/ducts, the cable clip had disconnected stopping the cable from sliding in and out of the cable sleeve, which in turn didnt operate the flap!! roasting hot hair blowing now!!
