ill double check it has the fittings in the floor when i test drive it (read :- when the missus test drives it)
how good are the rain sensitive wipers?
also, i noticed on the 2 Signums ive test drove, both have different steering wheel controls, the one with the left hand controls that remind me af the old Nokia navi roller key was really nasty to use, felt cheap and like i was going round in circles
is there any big difference between the 2 sorts?
Rain sensitive wipers work fine. Some, including myself, have reported problems if a new screen has been fitted and the sensor disturbed/not replaced but was fixed by refitting it.
Steering wheel controls - if it has three buttons either sided then the car is half-CanBus, scroll wheels means full CanBus. CanBus being the data bus that lots of modules in the car communicate by. On a full CanBus the main difference was that the head unit became a CanBus module - it just means that there's more electronic bits in the car and less things you can alter without possibly causing problems.
The older (usually pre-facelift) cars have the 3 buttons on the steering wheel. Newer (usually facelift) cars have the scroll wheels. Makes no odds really
Well the missus test drove the Signum tonight, absolutely love it to bits, so ive left a deposit, just waiting for my credit card cheques to get sent to me, then i can pay in full and we will be the new owners, ive checked the rear and there is NOT any fittings for the Travel Assistant, the car was first registered in 26 June 2004.

i might leave it a while and get the kit from VX and buy a TA from ebay.
and even better, it had 4 BRAND SPANKING NEW TYRES...........and even betterer than that, THERE NOT GOODYEAR
there Dunlop SP winter sport
Don't mean to stick my nose in, but be wary of those. You get none of the protection that you do with credit cards. Just in case you weren't aware.Bummer - ah well it's not a huge deal to retro-fit the sockets and wiring.
A new travel assist including fitting kit should cost you no more than £375 from Vauxhall, thats what I was quoted.
I fitted mine using the how to guide on this site, which was very good indeed. Took be about an hour but then again I wanted to ensure is was a perfect fit. As Andyvec has said, the metal location lugs have to be fitted inside the centre section of the seat, again this is not a hard job.
There are three on ebay right now.
