Default Parrot 3200 being fitted now.

The bloke from Carphone Warehouse has just turned up to fit my Parrot 3200.

First thing he said was "where is the Universal Mute Cable". I said, I have not even opened the box.

Nah, its an optional extra. Give them a ring and they will take a CC payment of £35 and I can come back and fit.

Obviously by this time I am a little annoyed and mentioned it was a present and that Amazon were doing them for £100. He said that does not include 'free fitting??' whic could cost around £130.

So my question is, do I need the universal cable and if so, can I fit it myself after he does the basic install? I have a full Sat Nav system if that matters. There were ISO leads but he said they were no good for my car.

The Parrot comes wih an ISO harness to allw easy fitment to most cars. When your car has a quadlock as in your case you need a quadlock to ISO converter which also converts back from ISO to quadlock the other side.
To be honest if he knew what he was doing he could of ftted it without one and given you a better install by routing the audio through the stereos phone input. This would also give you volume control of your phone call from your steering controls.
Oh and job should take 45 minutes tops if he calls himself a professional.
Parrots into Vectras used to take me 30 mins, Parrots into Laguns used to take 15 only you had to kick your heels for 15 minutes to make the install charge feasible.

He is still here doing it now. Said it would take an hour. Don't really know how to ask him about the stereos phone input without sounding like a **** tbh.

Well, he finished the job and not too bad either. Crystal clear, although the parrot is only just in reach. I have to stretch slightly to press the buttons.

Anyway, for £35 I can order the lead and he will come back and fit for free. Phoned CW and they saud someone would call. No call yet though.

    Thumbs up

Hi ya you dont need a lead the radio has direct input for phone audio and if used will allow you to control the volume from the steeing wheel.
all you have to do is remove the radio and pin the wires from the kits speaker to ph+ and ph- and the mute wire in where it says phone or mute on later models if you dont fancy it try neatcom.co.uk and ask for steve or kirk and they will sell you what you need and how to fit it make sure you ask for a direct input lead.tell em dean told you to call
