Default Big Phils Alton Towers Meet

Well, Our trip started on Saturday when we though we'd have a weekend away and C had booked us a fantastic hotel just under Stafford, so once we'd hit the potteries we retired here for the night...what a cracking place to stay...

the following morning, we all met up at Uttoxeter..can you identify these knees?????

    are we having fun folks??..

The acceleration on 'RITA' was, according to the riders, phenominal...so much so they went round and round on it..

Then it was back to an old favorite, the corkscrew..

and to prove it's no photoshop...this is the weather we had to endure

This was called 'SUBMISSION' and a few of our number wanted to give in...it didn't look pleasant

a couple of big kids on 'Pinball Wizard'....

and todays surefire hit with the members who made the trip....'OBLIVION'..

it takes you up and up, then just leaves you hanging around for a while......

And then it throws you vertically down .....

Such a scary ride that you couldn't get the girls off it with promises of chocolate, donuts or even a KFC....i think they rode it nearly half a dozen times..

We where so lucky today, horror weather stories kept folks away, so although the park was busy, the queues where short....and i think everyone did all the rides they wanted to ....

A MASSIVE thankyou to Phil for not pulling this meet.. he could have bailed, but he held on and the day was great, forget the rain, we've all burnt with the sun...and a big thanks to all who made it.. i think we were adequatley rewarded for our travels.....

and next time Nick gets a monorail carriage of his own....

it's one i've had for about 14 years now..i had a motorbike accident and landed badly on my head and neck, resulting in damage to C3/C4..i now have to receive regular treatment for it to maintain it's present condition..but i don't let it get in the way of life if you know what i mean, but i do have limits.... so no rides for Marky....
