    Default Vectra-C - Pedestrian Friendly.

Anyone else just see the article on the BBC 6 Oclock news?

Slating car manufacturers for poor manufacturing and design, then used the Vec-C as an example of a well designed , well protected and pedestrian friendly car!!!!

    Top marks!

Missed that mate but if I remember rightly, according to ncap the vec c has a really bad rating for pedestrian collisions. Your safe as houses inside but if you get hit by one your dead.

Thats partly what the facelift has set out to achieve. The wider and thicker 'v' is part of this - increasing the surface area contact with a pedestrian, thus reducing the force. The front bumper is made with less reinforcement and I'm not sure if they have changed on the new one the bonnet - on the astra g there is a perforated lattice under the main bonnet skin aimed at reducing impact damage, and the wipers were replaced with the flexi type.
