if you want an live feed, then you can pick it up at the cigarette lighter socket, that will have enough spare power to run the HU..th etrouble with the Vec C is that there are only a few places you can tap into..

IIRC the existing feed is permanent & fused at about 15 amps & the cig lighter is ignition - my problem is picking up a lighting feed for the dimmer as I have no power at the cig lighter illumination!

I'll rip it out later on and let you know how I get on...

Best way of describing it is this,,,the iso connector which I have to connect to the iso in the Car has these two wires out of it........

So it looks like when i connect the two blocks together the loose wires may have power running throught them which I then conect to the Stereo... Anyways i'll have a go later and we'll find out

My Sony HU has two bullet connectors from the back ... these two Red and Yellow bullet connectors connect into a Single Yellow wire which feeds into an iso connector...

    still with me ????

Now the Single yellow which is in this block would require a Power feed to light up the Stereo..........

When I connect the ISO from Vauxhall to this ISO there is a blank empty space in the Vaux ISO ............ so I am presuming no Power !!!

Hense I think that the Two Wires loose from Vaux ISO Red / Yellow may go into this empty Space connecting to the Single Yellow ( the one in the Headunit ) and hopefully I'll have Power

Sorry no way of taking Pic's

    Right....hope this helps....

On the back of the Vx HU there's a wiring diagram showing pin numbers and allocations for the quadlock. For the permanent live feed you need to either find a female spade connector and solder it to the end of the loose red wire, and plug it into the right hole on the quadlock OR do as i did...

Find the live feed going into the quadlock, make a small split in the insulation and expose a couple of mm of bare wire. Then take the free end of the loose wire and either solder or twist it onto the original live wire.

As for ignition live, that's quite tricky. You're right, there is no ignition live to the Vx HU, it's all worked from the CANBUS, so if you really need one you can pick up an ignition live from the cig lighter, feed the wire back up behind the console, and connect to the loose yellow wire you have.

Some good News Boys and Girls

Connected the Vaux ISO that I got with the Facia to My Sony HU ISO....

Took out the VDO 2005 Stereo that is Standard with my Veccy........
( Used 4 allen Keys and pulled it out no probs )
and disconnected the Cable.......... removed the Cage this is held on by a Screw which has one of these Pozidrive Heads....... allen key took this out.

Now I then Connected the Vaux ISO to the Car loom..........

Remember I said earlier that the ISO i got with the Facia had 2 wires Yellow and Red which are loose however there is a blank space in this ISO. When this Block was connected to the Car ( The Red IS a LIVE FEED )

I placed this Red wire into the Blank Space in the Vaux ISO which I got with the facia ...........
My Sony HU ISO When connected to the Vaux ISO (which I got with the Facia ) Powered UP.........

So all good........... I taped up the loose Yellow Wire...... Checked and NO power coming from this one.....

PS Mines a 2003 Veccy Club hope this helps someone else out there

Spot on about the Red Wire.. it was fairly loose... just Crimped it fairly tight with the Pliers, be a bit of a job now to pull them apart!!
