    Angry M25 Stop/Start - Bump- Tonight

I was returning home from Waltham Cross this evening in the Stop/Start traffic and this moron in a Renault Megane didn't notice that I had stopped (he was changing his CD) and BANG he rear ended me.

Luckily he was only doing about 5mph and I noticed before he hit me that he wasn't paying too much attention and I allowed my car to roll forward upon the impact to hopefully minimise the damage.

I informed my Insurance as his driving licence had a different address to the one he gave me

It doesn't look too bad (not cleaned my car since 2nd June) the wifes slippers relfect well though.

Hope you took a picture of him as well. A lot of people do not inform DVLA of their new address. Sometimes DVLA will void the licence as they have been unable to contact them. They only find out when the police check the licence if they are called. They won't always come out for a minor damage only accident.

Advice-- If you can get through to the police station by telephone tell them to check the insurance database (they all can now) and ask them if the address he/she has given is the same as the one on the database. They will not tell you the address but should confirm the address. If they refuse to confirm then demand that a officer attend as you suspect he/she is lying.

Sorry about the car and hopefully the compensation for the whiplash will soften the blow.

    Thanks.

As the traffic was SLOW big time, I came off at J21a only to notice that he followed me too.

The 2 addresses he gave me, where both local (Watford area), so I let him over take and then followed him and the new address checked out as he pulled up in to the drive and opened the front door.

I explained this to my insurance who made a note - I also gave them his mobile no. which he also answered. I've also managed to get his home no. too.

So fingers crossed it won't be a night mare.

I should get a call from the 'approved' repairers on Monday who will arrange for collection of my car and the delivery of a loan vehicle.

I have previously had experience with this garage when I had a Co. car and I have to say that I was impressed with the work and that the loan car was always reluctantly returned - last one was a SAAB 93 Aero Hot

Still can't get over that reflection though
