just had engine management done

Wow it feels like i have a new car . The engine management light came on about two weeks ago but goes off after the engine has started so book it in to be looked at . Didnt feel anthing wrong with the car just thinking im use to it as it dont go like it use to . Anyway they plugged it in there machine and a few hours later get a call to pick it up . The bloke said they were some faults regarding starting the car and the engine management system and they have loaded new codes or something can anyone explain more or have had the same problem with the gsi ??? Drove it home and it is more like when i first brought it what a beast!!!

Do you mean the wee spanner light on the dashboard display?.

Had that happen to me a few weeks ago, happened 3 times in the space of a fortnight, but its not done it since.

Didnt notice any drop off as far as performance goes, but then again I do have a CRD2 on it.

yeah the spanner with the car . i ve had it happen over the last couple off months it comes on then you dont see it for a while tyhen comes back again. i d get yours checked cause the bloke said there were faults in the software dont know if its all vectras though

Done under warrenty , i kept leaving it and leaving it cause it went off after a few weeks then come back on but my three year warrenty runs out next month so decided to get it done . Wished i listen a bit more so i could explain it better . Might phone up and tell him to explain it again!!

Tuning box m8. Not for the GSi's though only the CDTi's.

Will need to get my finger out, my warranty is up in late November this year.

So is having the diagnostic check and the subsequent software reset/update completely covered under warranty?. So no cost is incurred?.

yep all done under warrenty , i d get it done asap you will feel the difference if you have the same problem as me . My car does feel a whole lot better wish i sorted it sooner now.
