Problem On Acceleration

I HAVE APROBLEM WITH MY VECTRA THAT IS WHEN I ACCELLERATE IT FEELS LIKE GOING OVER A RUMBLE STRIP.IT HAS BEEN GARAGE HAD NEW PLUGS AND COIL PACK AND BEEN ON THE DIAGNOSTIC AND NO FAULTS CAME UP.CAN ANYONE HELP?

you mean it has a bad misfire or the engine doesn't run smooth when you accelerate??..

oh and hit caps lock off as well eh..

Hi there its like it is missing slightly but vibrates on acceleration and at a stand still when the engine is revved.The rev counter flickers up and down slightly when idling,cheers dean.

It Could be the Dual Mass Flywheel breaking up or the counter rotating balancer shafts may have jumped a tooth on the sprocket. Try to PM Benny on here, he's a z22se mechanic.

HI definately not dmf i drive an o4 transit and that happened to me a couple of months ago.Thing is the problem has been there for about 6 months and isnt getting any worse its just annoying and feels like i am not getting the performance i should be

Hi Lindsay,

It seems that i have the same problem or something similar with my veccy (2.2 Elegance) but when i accelerate the car vibrating and that rumble noise start. a few different garages ( as i'm travelling around europe with the problem) says it could be something coming from the gear shaft or somthing like that (sorry my technical terms are ****). Was wondering if you manage to sort yours out as it might be the same.

Have you tried revving the engine out of gear? Mine still does it then,but i have noticed a slight improvement since having my front tyres changed!Maybe this is a common problem on 2.2 elegances.How long has yours been like this for?

Thanks for the reply Lindsey but it seems to be the flywheel apparently so try to get it sorted. Thank you anyway hope yours got sorted.
