    Default h3 bulb question (fog light)

    as i have upgraded every other bulb on the car ive been looking at doing the fog light bulbs to cool blue to match the other h7 and 501 bulbs i up graded but what would happen if i up graded from 12v 55watt to 12v 100watt. apart from being brighter would this burn out any elements this is a ls model that has been upgrade and yes it looks the dogs *******s

    IIRC somebody tried 100W in their fogs and I'm sure it melted something! You'd need to search to double check that I'm not talking carp.

    Carp - yuk! I wouldn't be surprised if higher wattage fog lamps triggered the bulb failure warning too.

    have found these as I want to change mine, since going to HID the fogs are a real yukky yellow. But would changing to these mean meltage of some sort?? bear in mind I will only be using them during foggy times and not posing with them

    I think because the fog lights are small, there is a lot of heat from H3 Lamps ( More than H7s) We use H3s at work for some of our signalling equipment (handy eh ) there is a high chance that they will melt some of the plastic around the lamp.... I really would not put 100W H3s in anything small... Just try some really really light blue window tinting film, or colour correction lighting gel.
