    Default Belts?

    Guy's,

Would someone be as so kind to pass on their vast knowledge (lick lick) to provide a mileage guide on the changing of all belts.

I'm soo clueless that I thought the only belt's need changing are the timing and fan belts @ every 60k or so depending on engine size, yet what about the cambelt etc?

    Much appreciated.

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

    Year : 0000

    Default

    Timing belt is cam belt.

Can't think of any other belts, cam belt (timing belt), auxiliary drive belts (alternator, aircon etc)

on your 1800...timing belt should be done around 40,000 to be safe

the auxilary should go to around 80,000 but check it when you do the cambelt for cracking in the vee ridges..

Mark, auxilary belt??? is this more expensive to replace or would it be better to change both at the same time. Mines coming to 70k and I was gonna do both then. Was also thinking of chaning the water pump and the fan belt in one swoop? Would this be advisable for peace of mind???

    (Many thanks!)

Get the cam belt kit - rollers and tensioners - done with the water pump, approx £220 from your local dealer. The AUx belt drives the air con and alternator. There is no fan belt as its an electric fan. The Aux belt is only about £10 I seem to remember. On the Z18xe anyway.
