lake in my footwell

got in car this morning (first time since friday) and the passenger foot well (is that a pun?) was soaked front to back, also there was a strange sound from my dash like it was full of sand, had a look around & there was no obviouse points it could of come from & the top part of the footwell, any ideas?

last leak I saw into the footwell was from below the battery, battery acid has leaked and rotted its way through allowing rain in. (ford escort many years ago)

Check the drains under the front scuttle panel. If they are blocked it can then fill up and come through the pollen filter. Mine leaked through the windscreen seal! filled up both front footwells!

I had that on my Vectra B. They traced it to the sun roof drainpipe. I had wondered whether it was coming in from the bottom of the windscreen somewhere.

Yep had it, caused by parking facing uphill and rain water running off the bonnet into the battery causing it to over flow onto the bulkhead. It was an £1800 repair back then (late eighties).

iv dried most of it out so il check tommorow all of the above, cheers all

found this was blocked with sh*te, cleared & seems to have cured problem

That little rudder thing was missing on my car a few years ago and one winter time when the car was parked in the garage, i came out in the morning and the wiper's and something else stopped working on inspection i found that i had mice droppings up and around that area were they had been coming in and started to munch through a wiring loom. NOT HAPPY.

But all fixed now.
