    Default Hate my Insurance company!!!

    Right folks just to clarify;

    I had my accident 5 weeks ago (when a lady drove into the back of my car waiting at a red light it's in "car chat" bit), totally a NON FAULT claim, and my insurance company withheld repairs because my car is driveable! I then argued the boot don't shut so I get a hire car for 35 days...what a load of b***cks! (Excuse my language and forgive me)! I get a phone call on Wednesday to tell me my car hire has ceased and Im driving their car uninsured and they'll report the car stolen to the Police!

    In doing so I would have got sacked because my job depends on my licence but then when I turned around to remind the hire company representative the hire period was extended, he then replied "Oh yeah"! My though was get you're bleeding facts right before you open your gob you half witted oath! I found out today the hire paperwork it states 35 days from 22/05/2007 meaning the car's due to be returned on 26/06/2007! So far my car hasn't been repaired and I have to drive it despite its unroadworthyness!

    I have now bailed out of using the insurance company's bodyshop because poor quality of work and they're going to be expensive! I therefore want to choose my own repairer, I need two written estimates so I get one from Vauxhall Crown for 1310.00 and another independent bodyshop for 2358.00 and fax them through. I conveniently get e-mail from the elephant.co.uk claims department telling me the Crown motors estimate labour figure was too high and unable to authorise the claim! Result - What a lame excuse did they even see the higher amount? My and other road users safety compromised and as a consumer Im entitled to choose my own repairer, my car's only 1 year old from Brand new and rather have a Vauxhall repairer do it to manufacturer's specs. than some imbasol!

    Just frustrated folks Im going to' blow!!!

    How come you didnt go through the 3rd party's insurance company?

    someone reversed into me a few weeks ago, was gonna go through my insurance then thought about losing my no claims which i dont wanna do so went through the 3rd party's insurance. They sent out a engineer a couple of days after, he deemed my car unroadworthy because one of they headlights was slightly loose. Got a courtesy car the next day even though mine was driveable.

    yep, i'd go after her firms insurance, your firm can't hold up repairs if she's liable

    it's your insurance companies job to persue them for settlement

    just cancel the claim, then get in touch with the 3rd party insurance or go through a claims company. Try britannia claims 08001385485 they were excellent with my claim. Very fast.

    I used Drive Assist UK for mine.. Got run into the back of a cpl of weeks ago (again) and they are dealing with the whole lot for me.. I didnt even use my insurance company to pursue it at all.

    2nd time I've used them, once just for a hire car but this time for the whole lot. Not a problem with them thus far. I picked my own place to get the car repaired, submitted one quote only and agreed to..

    Drive Assist UK - 01827 319400
