when we go out to the shops today and this happens.
And the spoiler survived I was dreading seeing that in pieces again.
Wasn't in a hurry to get to town as just spending a day at the shops with the family, even had the cruise control at one point but I don't know why I turned it off to use the pedals.
Came out of a village and only do 40 at a guess when a large female deer launches itself through the bushes, off the embankment. I literally caught a glance of it over the n/s wing mirror and stood on the brakes. Mel didn't even see it.
Was funny how it all happened so slow as I even thought to myself there's no point braking, you've hit it already then bang it disappeared as it got pushed along in front.
Amazingly it dragged itself off the road to the opposite embankment and into the bushes where it lay there looking very alert and head held high.
We drove back to the closest farm to see if there was any one around to deal with it but couldn't find anyone so the Mel phones the guy at the farm she keeps her horse at to see if he would but as we returned to it it had laid down & died.
Initially walking round town I was debating about sourcing the parts to fix it without going through insurance as we have £250 excess but it now looks like it needs bumper, front wing, headlight, the bonnet now has 2 small dents in it, the fixing point of one of the wing bolts behind the bumper looks as though it's moved, wings now touching door and strangely the fog light has started to mist up.
Also I could invoice myself for a new set of parking sensors as I don't do this size sensor & will need to replace the whole lot
Can someone invoice their insurance company if they are self employed or must it be a third party to do the work?
Also going to stick my genuine Irmscher spolier back on & break it accordingly.
Also insurance renewal is due in 10 days, don't know to claim now & loose the 5 years NCB we got or take this year on the chin & next year work towards building them back up or take out new policy & claim a couple of weeks later.
Either way todays trip has cost us £250 in excess plus at least another £100 on a new quote I've just got with having 3 years NCB & a claim
