It was the the gassing station with people who have all different models. They said that the mondeo was faster more fun to drive and handles better.
Vectra every time for me, i have driven an equivalalent Mondeo to my Vectra, and hated every moment of it, i was practically begging to get my car back!
Here's my honest opinion. The Mondeo does handle better than the Vectra C and the ST220 is slightly faster then the GSI in standard form, but once you sit in both of them you soon realise that the Vectra is a much nicer place to be. The build quality and plastics used in the Mondeo look and feel cheap in my opinion.
The Vectra is also a much better cruiser and rides the bumps with ease; you can't say that about the ST.
If it was my money, get the GSI.
Yep the GSI get,s my vote too.
Small point - it may have been just me but I hated the door mirrors in the Mundano - they appeared to be too small. Engine was nice but prefer the VX one.
Nothing at all to do with GSI vs ST, but I am sat in a boring QHSE meeting and looking around me most other people are doing their mail as well........
I drove a Mondeo Estate back from Plymouth last week. No comparison I know as I have a vectra Sri, but Gotta say the Mondeo's driving position was not nice. The cruise control was fiddly. I have so many more adjustments in the Vectra to get comfy....
While you don't but these versions for economy, a former colleage had a ST220 manual, and on a similar run and similar driving my 3.2 Elite Auto would consistently return far better MPG than his manual box ST.
