    Default Fitting 2 Units question

Hi all, this is my first post so be gentle......

I have just bought an Vectra c, Club with a CDR2005 unit already fitted and now want to fit my old Sony HU together with a Motorised TV monitor then connect everything into my old freeview unit.

I have the FV unit already and it worked great in my previous car (4x4) but I was only using a portable DVD as a monitor.

    Soooooo my questions are these?

    1. Is it easy enough to "stack" both HU's in the existing dash slot?

    2. Does anyone have any ideas abput the simplest way to connect both units so I can have both or either permanently power & giving out sound?

    3. I plan to fit the FV unit in the First aid box in the boot as it can be switched on/off via the remote, which fuses will be best to link it to, to give permanent & switched live?

    4. Can I still use the steering wheel controls?

Any other tips/tricks would be appreciated

    Ta

Erm...even though it's a double DIN unit, I don't think there's enought room for 2 single DIN units - unless you've already seen a facia adaptor that will work?

There's no ignition live anyway (well, not in mine at least) so whatever live feed you take will be a permanent one. I would imagine you'll have to cut and splice 2 ISO harnesses into the quadlock adaptor.

in the estate there's a 12v accessory socket in the boot - not sure if the other models have one. that would be your switched live. as for permanent, im not sure, sorry...
    4. Can I still use the steering wheel controls?
if you buy the right adaptor for your HU you should be able to, yes

    Thanks PP

I have ordered a new fascia, Single Din, Just to use a template for the outside dimensions as I plan to fibreglass up the internal dimensions to the required spec. At £6 it is cheap enough to chop up!!.

If there is a 12v socket in the estate then there will surely be a connection either in the loom or at the fuse box, some research needed here methinks.

Was hoping there would be some kind of socket doubler for the main feeds available but I can patch a second "autolead" in just have to make sure I shrinkwrap every lead to stop the car bursting into flames at every opportunity

Not going to be an easy fit but I'll get there eventually.
