how do you make a word doc into a PDF?
You need to download a PDF converter.... its a programme which is actually a printer driver, but rather than converting the doc to printer language and sending it to a printer, converts the .doc to .pdf and exports it to a new file. I'll see if i can find you one, standby.

Found this one on C-Net... there are a few others on there but this sems to be one of the most straight forward... and its my favorite price... freee!!!

The best way is with Adobe Distiller.
