It seems pricey to me, but then again i dont use main dealers.

I just added my last three services and MOT's up, and they came out to about £290.

My last service was £240 so to me a bargin if they include the cam but don't think they will as I don't think it is part of ther service an additional item that they would squirm out of.

    My 40,000 Euro service

    Product Unit-Price Qty Disc Total(Inc)
    Inspection £49 1.8 30.23% £72.31
    Filter £29.65 1 10% £31.36
    Filter £7.55 1 10% £7.99
    Filter £8.40 1 10% £8.88
    Filter £8.30 1 10% £8.78
    Seal Ring £0.82 1 10% £0.87
    Engine oil £76.12 2 50% £89.44
    Wash Fluid £0.97 1 10% £1.02
    Battery 3.19 1 10% £3.37
    Brake Fluid £2.84 1 0% £3.34
    Diesel Treat £11.95 1 10% £12.64

    £240, rip off I think

I too think that this is a rip off. I think most dealer services are, but that is my opinion. There are cheaper options available that still keep warranty intact.

i asked if cam-belt included but not only has the price gone up but read on lol i don't think i will bother
    Good morning

Firstly I would like to thank you for your enquiry.

I can confirm that the cost of the plan applicable to your vehicle would be £448.00, the current costs for these services carried out outside of the plan are £560.35, these will of course increase each year however the plan is inflation proof.

The cambelt is due on your vehicle at 4 years or 40,000 miles, whichever is sooner. This is an additional operation to the routine service and would be an additional charge. We would however offer a discounted rate to customers covered by the plan.

There are two payment options, you can either pay one lump sum, or pay half now and half prior to the first due service being carried out.

If you have any further queries then please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Regards

    Kieran
    Assistant Service Manager

I think i would tell him where to shove his 'offer'. I also thought that the cambelt interval was 60,000 miles. Well at least it is with my 1.8.

Get the servicing done at an independent VAT registered garage to VX schedule using VX parts (or equivalents) and warranty isn't impacted.

Useful to note that long life oil + filter for mine is about £30 over the VX counter. This gives me up to 20,000 miles service interval.

Its 40000 miles on the 1.8 Z18xe, same as the astra. I think VX changed it.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

It is a Z18XE, and 40000 miles for the cambelt or 4 years. Get the water pump changed too incase it fails with the new pressure from the new belt and destroys your engine. The belt has to come off for a new pump to be fitted so for about £30 why not? is it worth the risk?
