    Default remap - tuning box

Being new to the forum world I have done a lot of reading and no writing. Felt it was time for some input. I have read with interest nearly all the threads looking at the difference between tuning box option and the remap route. Have had the 1.9 cdti (150) SRi sat nav estate for 3 weeks now and found it as quick as my old SRi 2.2 direct. Wanted more power though, opted for the Regal Autosport remap route in the end, its pushing over 200bhp with 325 ft/lb of torque. Big smile. Iíve had a Vectra B 2.5 V6 GSi in the past and the new remap makes the diesel feel like the V6, just keepís pulling.

Did you take their word for that or go to an independant rolling road?

Also what as the road wheel figures (bhp/torque)?

    smooth power = naf

I have a small child in the back of my car and every time I slam my foot down, they smash me round the back of the head with a tyre wrench!

What's the point in having a diesel that feels like a petrol?

The 888 map and regal map are simular and both writen by EDS but they are definatly different. The Regal map increases max rpm to 5600 and they can retro fit the sports button. The sports button might be the only thing that still works after they have finished though.

I would like to see a Regal map graph (from an independent rolling road) to compare.

The car pulls like my old 2.5 V6 GSi did brings back the memories, the power just keeps coming. Yes it is a EDS remap and have never had problems with Regal upgrades. Had modification to the GSi, never any come back. They have a Signum with even more power, has larger intercooler and turbo, this was to quick. Once back of holiday will return for a rolling road and will then also do the K & N filter change.

don't use their RR, get on an independant one and get road figures aswell.

As for fast, a 2.3T Mazda T3 tried it on with me today... he went past when we got to 70mph and I stopped accellerating but that it. That thing produces 260PS and should do 0-60 in 6.1sec, I know fast.

My little Signature is missing at the mo so let me clarify that...

    Fly wheel - 213bhp @ 4300, 376lbft @ 2600
    Road wheel - 180bhp, 322lbft

    best 1/4 mile time so far, 15.24sec @ 91mph

And I had my car weighed at an MOT station recently, 1620KG!
