    Question Rattling door

    Hi everyone,

For some time now my driver's side door has rattled when driving on anything other than a smooth road. I've had a dealer look at it (several times...) but without improvement. They've "adjusted the door alignment", but this didn't help.

If I apply outwards pressure on the door it seems to stop the rattle, but this is a bit difficult to do while driving

Does anyone have any ideas on what can be done?

    Thanks!

Hmmm... sounds like I need to find a competent dealer.

    Thanks @Ceejay.

I concur with Ceejay. I had the same thing, door had a slight rattle. My dealer adjusted the strike plate - sorted.

I have the very same problem, and it is the rubber trim around the top of the door which appears to be loose and as you said if you push against the door you can close the gap slightly. But surely if you adjust the striking plate the door surface would then not line up with the other door panels causing more wind noise. This was my thought but as yet I haven't adjusted anything, just turned up the stereo a bit louder lol, but the noise is very annoying.

When you say rattle do you mean inside the door??
If so has the window ever been broken, if that happens the chances of getting all the glass out is niegh on impossible. So there could be a bit rattling around in there.
    Just a thought.

No its just the rubber trim around the door tapping against the bodywork, could adjust the door catch but then the door panel outside would be mis-alined, so just turn up the stereo lol easyer

No, my windows are in one piece I'm pretty convinced that it's something to do with the door alignment or striker.

I also have another puzzling noise. There seems to be some noise coming from the front left seat belt reel. It's a strange sort of "gurgling" noise. Adjusting the height adjustment doesn't seem to make any difference, though a gentle touch will stop the noise. Any ideas anyone?

    Ta.
