    Default Rear suspension Bouncing!

Everytime i hit a pothole, manhole or speed hump the back wheels bounce down the road making a realy loud thudding noise as though the wheels are bouncing up and down along the road. The back of the car also feels really unstable as though the tyres are well over inflated!

    Any ideas, please help...

    Thanks Dan

    Greetings to you Dan

About six months ago I had the same kind of uneasy feeling with the rear end of my Sri, when going around corners or bumppy roads the rear felt most unsettled, I however did not have the thud noise. I took it to my local Vx. I was then informed that the two rear shocks were shot and had to be renewed. By this time I had already covered +- 60 000, I am not to sure if you are so high up on the milage so it would be difficult for me to say if this is what could be wrong with yours.

I would recommend however that you have it looked into, cause theres nothing worse than a dodgy rear end.

    Regards sent

    Steven

    Danny..

Shot rear dampers on Vec C's are a common fault..Some at silly low mileages.. Parts are cheap and unlike the vec B fitting is a doddle as they have seperated the spring and damper again..prob knew they'd be changing them soon..

Certainly sounds like the rear shocks , dont forget to renew them in pairs !

When one of mine went , it also damadged the top stabiliser arm , the outer bush has a rose bush and can cause excesive wheel wobble from rear. Unfortunatly you cannot just buy the outer bush , you have to buy a complete arm at a cost of around £60 each.

Hope these havnt gone on yours !

My Sig has to go in for new rear shockers. Parts are cheap? My local VX dealer is quoting me £130 per shocker, and that's not even fitted!
