Default which sri to go for?

    Hello there.

I am new to this forum so hello to everyone.
i'm sure there'll be more time to say few words about myself in the future - as long as u r interested , now i'm just looking for a advise.
I have 2 vectras C to choose from.
Both SRI, 2.2, direct inj., 54 reg. one is manual with 6000 on the clock ready to be mine for 10500, another is automatic with 13000 priced 8971. Now, i am not big fun of automatic transmissions, further more i heard some older contrstructions like the one in Omega 2.5 were rubbish. But, difference in price tags is significant. What would u advise? prices seem absolutely bargain to me, both cars r ex-demos and come from vauxhall dealership.
And do these with auto gearbox stay much behind manual ones off the spot ?
All suggestions highly welcomed as i have to make up my mind by tuesday.

    Cheers.

My brother had the choice of a Supra Auto or Manual, Auto was 2k cheaper so he got the Auto, he hated it after about 2 weeks using it, if your not absolutley-spot-on-keen on an auto, leave it where it is and get a manual!

Thanks Big Phil, i am opting 4 one with stick but that 1500 makes me thinking...
Deal is even more of a bargain as i'll get 5 yrs 0% finance on it with my N-reg volvo 460 2.0 CD as a deposit
just wondering if that 1500 i'd save on automatic one is worth the headache in the future

    Hi v freak, welcome mate.

In my opinion the moneys not worth it, you've got to live with the car for a good while I guess. Get the one you want mate, otherwise you'll kick yourself

Go for the manual.... the auto box will do your head in if you're not used to it. If you had more time I would recommend hiring an Auto for a couple of weeks to help you decide.... speak to the dealer and see if they will let you borrow the Auto for a day to try it... if they know they're guaranteed a sale either way they may be amenable to it.
