I was just about to post about this!

My brother rang me yesterday to say that he got a couple of free tickets for the Friday (think it was a newspaper thing) and he's going to come down - asked whether I wanted to come. Yes indeedy!

We'll be getting their early as the paddocks are only open 7-9am. I'm sure we could arrange to meet up at some point.

I'll be there as well (not sure what time as I'm going along with a mate who's always running late...)

Are the paddocks only open 7-9? Is that just the F1?

Copied from the Goodwood site - http://www.goodwood.co.uk/fos/

Where can I find out what’s happening each day?

Friday is a relaxing day for the enthusiast. Free practice – all hillclimb cars and motorcycles run twice; Supercar Run twice; Forest Rally Stage in action all day; initial viewing of Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’; live music; air displays; Bonhams sales of automobilia and cars (entry by catalogue only).

Are there restrictions on entry to the Paddocks?
Access to the paddocks is free. However, when the Paddocks at the Festival become busy it may be necessary to restrict movements. Visitors with pushchairs and s may experience difficulties moving through the crowds at busy times.

How do I get across the track?
There is a large footbridge close to the Formula 1 Paddock, which is open at all times. In addition, there are six public pedestrian track crossings, which are controlled by marshals. These track crossings open approximately once every 40 minutes between each batch of cars, although times may vary depending on the track action

So sounds like (F1) paddocks are open all day, just that they can get very busy during the day.

Yep, just like other years - between 7 and 9 the paddocks will be open, after 9 the paddocks will still be open and the track will be running. Usually they close off areas of the paddocks as the cars go out to and return from the track. Thought you meant that this year they were only open 7-9am.

Hopefully the weather will hold this year...(forecast not loooking good)

    Shush! - be quiet you!!

It's been glorious weather all week down here, hoping it'll continue.

Forecast is for heavy showers, so may not be too bad. Don't forget, we haven't been having anywhere near the weather that you lot up in the Midlands have been having!

Yeah I know... the weather always gets worse the nearer you get to Walsall... ...as my friends also tell me regularly...

I'm not wishing bad weather for anyone this weekend as we are going to Oulton Park on Sunday for the Touring Car Championships..

If Friday was forecast to be better weather I'd buy some tickets for the Goodwood Festival, but its a long long way to drive and have a day of bad weather....
