    Angry Knocking in steering-update

I have previously posted about this before. My 9 month old Siggy was back at the stealers from where I bought it yesterday, for them to investigate the steering problem for a second time. Yet again their technician says unable to reproduce fault. They did re-balance the front wheels which I had requested, the techie fobbed me off saying the re-balance had fixed it. Within a minute of leaving I could feel the knocking when turning left (fault is not replicated when turning right). At this point I decided enough is enough as I am going to seek a second opinnion from another dealer (Twells of Billinghay, Lincs, who have won numerous awards for customer service). When I originally posted about this I received several replies which mentioned what sounded like a known issue, however the explanations were brief. Wondered if anyone can give me longer explanations which I can take to Twells.
Does anyone know if an independent party (such as the AA) would assist in investigating this?
Defective tailgate struts were also replaced yesterday...not what i expect for an almost new car.

I dont know what they have checked on either visit, they just say cannot reproduce the fault. From what I can tell they have re-balanced the front wheels and road tested it. Have it booked in at another dealer tomorrow for another look. Will keep you updated. I cannot believe there should be anything worn on a car with less than 8k on the clock.

Talking Final update: Fixed at last

I took my Siggie to another local stealer in Cleethorpes yesterday and they checked it out straight away. They removed steering wheel and did something with the splined drive. Its pergect now.

Now just wondering whether I can be bothered to complain to the stealer where I bought the car from and/or Vx head office about how I was fobbed off during my 2 previous visits. Perhaps I will just vote with my feet and use Cleethorpes dealer from now on.

I think its worth complaining if you approach them in a mature manner and explain what you have gone through to get your car properly fixed. It may help the garage in future problems with other customers and you may get a little something off a service next time.

Have them check the UJ inside the car behind the pedals.
