izzzz been flashed at!!

I was doing 40 in a 30 didnt realise...it was night,roads quiet,singing with radio etc.Then all of a sudden i get flashed at by speed cam facing forwards.Now this camera has a camera sign about 100metres before it to warn you of the camera.But as its summer the trees have overgrown and covered the camera sign up,so you can't see the camera warning sign as you approach.

I understand about speeding and all the dangers no speeches please

.Would i have a case if i chose the option of court instead of fixed penalty

As all cameras are meant to have visible warning signs before the cameras.

Did the camera flash in your face or did the flash come from behind you as it was looking at the rear of your car??

Front facing camera on the other side of the road, would be a GATSO
No need to worry about that, unless you are committing some other offence

Front facing camera on the same side of the road, would be a Truvelo
However, these use IR and do not flash, so I'm going with the above

as i was driving towards it-it flashed in my face

It also has 4 lines painted on the road before the camera point.

And without condoning speeding

there was a very well publicised case a couple of years back where an off duty police officer had his NIP quashed because the signs didn't comply to whatever regs they're supposed to.

I'd hang fire and see if anything actually turns up on your doorstep though.

Dont want to start a huge debate, but we have very recently been having this debate on a Truckers Forum, and a member emailed Truvelo who confirmed they do actually flash, albeit from behind a Magenta Filter.

I think you will find that if the camera on the opposite side of the road flashes you,it is out of "film" or not working and nakes it sensitive,I had this happen to me So I phoned up the Dept that deals with the cameras,I was still chastised for setting it off though but nothing can be done about.
On another occasion I done it a police traffic car happened to be coming in the opposite direction to me,he soon swung around and pulled me over,his opening line was "do you know why I stopped you " Replied "no" then he said the same adding he could not do anything about as he did not have full proof,so I got a bol--king any way...

i didnt think u could get done being flashed face on by gatso's. my road angel papers say this, as it doesnt warn u of gatso's facin u on the opposite side of the road.
ive set one off before goin towards it, heard nothin from.
there werent any lines on my side of the road, just the otherside (goin away from the camera).

If you mean that it was on your side of the road(?) then it would be a Truvelo - explains the four lines (thought it was three though) before the camera. They would be all very close together. As above they do 'flash', just not really noticeable unless it's dark. Doesn't sound good for you - just need to see if anything arrives on your doorstep.
