    Default brake warning light

    Hi

I just purchased vectra 2.2 dti sxi who hada service back in february where its brake pads were changed by Vauxhall.

but after 2 weeks of driving it the light has come on.. happened the day there was heavy rain flodding everywhere!

the pads seem fine alot on them yet so what else could it be? the sensor?

if so is the sensor easy to change?

    cheers in advance

    TJ

there's a sensor wire that plugs into (i think) the offside pad. it should have been changed with the pads, i'd try that first. about a tenner from the stealers.

heavy rain and flooding??.... check for moisture in the loom plug under the passengers side front wheelarch, where the sensor lead plugs into the cars loom, it may well have water in to as it's inverted the way to catch it.....also check that the brake end is properly connected as well..

    hi

Thanks for the replies. I just went to local garage they said the pads are fine. Thought id clear that. So he moved the sensor wires but that didnt help.

He advised to get diagnostic done as it could be anything linked to brakes. Is that true?

Or is it best to try what Gsi 3.2 said above and if no joy then go for sensor

    cheers

wiggling the wires won't check if the plug is full of water....

take it apart and check it's dry inside..
