    Default Insurance........again!

Had my renewal notice for the Saab through from Adrian Flux on Saturday and was a little shocked to say the least. £414
Did a quick quote on "confused.com" and the cheapest was £292

Now nothing unusual there as i always do a re-quote when my renewal comes through (just to check) BUT the strange thing about it is that both quotes were with the same company. I'm with Royal Sun Alliance through AF and the low quote was also with them

I phoned AF this morning to ask the reason and a very nice young lady explained that they all have different deals with different companies. "Fair enough but explain the big difference to me please?" She goes away and a couple of minutes later and she announces that they can do it for.........................................£ 284

New renewal notice now being posted out to me

If you don't ask you don't get. Always question it folks!

Don’t talk to me about insurance…. Gggrrrrrrrr

Insured with More Than (Royal Sun Alliance) for the past 2 years first year £360 fully comp with protected no claims. Got hit by a polish lorry on the M25 and made a claim got all the details of the lorry the driver and the company. 6 months later the claim had still not been sorted due to major errors made by More Than and my renewal was due. Not wanting to endanger my claim or delay it any further I decided to stay with More Than despite an increase of £80 on my premium for the second year.

A year later the claim has still not be resolved and ive just got my renewal through at £530!!!!! Checked on confused and the best price I got was £284 and guess what More Than quoted £394 so i gave them a call and they couldn’t match it or better it and offered me £40 discount on my renewal premium….. complete joke

So the outcome is I have gone with the AA @ £333 a £200 saving

I've just renewed with Swiftcover and they are £150 cheaper than Direct Line who'd always been cheapest in previous years. I saved £40 by putting my 50 year old mother on the insurance... despite the fact that she's never driven or likely to drive one of my cars.

I've just saved £180 by renewing my Direct Line policy as a new customer rather than going with the renewal quote they sent me. I got 0% apr on monthly payments as well.
Even the bloke on the phone couldn't understand it.

Think they only care about engine mods, or mods that make the car go faster.. Mine did not increase when i told them about the spoiler, grille etc. But they did send out a new cert with those details added
