I read on a Saab forum that the 2.2 Dti was an Isusu engine, and completely different from the 2.0 Dti, is this right?

Might be mate as the 3.0 CDTI is Isusu
doubt it.. its the same basic block, different head? they use.. different throttle bodies etc etc... the 1.7td was an isuzu engine i believe, but i'm sure our resident expert will be along to shoot me down in flames if i'm wrong!
Nope you izz right, 1.7 was a suzy lump, was also a Vx 1.7 as well, Suzy one was regarded as best though.
Yep the old 1.7td in the last cav was isuzu also, not to sure about the 1.7 cdti though.
2.2 DTi is an Opel design, it's nowt to do with Isuzu.
Thought so, i didn't think they were that different from the 2.0.
I was also told it wasn't a Vauxhall engine, apparently they fit the same engine in the Saab 2.2.
Maybe that's why they are so difficult to chip?!
I was in the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 for a while too.
the 1.9 CDTI is a Fiat engine.
Saab is owned by GM, so not surprised it shares engine platforms with other GM brands, eg Opel / Vx.
