    Default Extra Airbox Mod !

while checking under bonnet fluids last week i noticed the air intake on my SRI travels along way before its gets to the airbox ! does anyone think there is any value in modding it so its mounted on the other side of the slam panel ? there is room for it so i may give it a go !

Either that or insulating from the heat of the rad with some wrap!

I noticed the same last week, the intake starts on the right hand side of the grill,(when looking from the front of the car).

Surely it would be better on the left, being that its a much shorter distance!?

Anyone done a mod to change this, and if so did they notice any difference?

Are there different models with the intake starting closer to the air box? Such as the GSI

Also I think that the intake pipe that travels past the rad is already insulated.

As you look at the front of my 2.2 DTi, the intake starts just to the left of centre of the grille, like this....

Dont know if you could modify it for what you want though??

No, as the air is coming in from the front and the first layer is the heat exchanger for the aircon.
